BOB HARRINGTON  of  the  New York Post

Charles DeForest attacks each song as if it were an acting piece.  In his own gorgeous compositions, there are echoes of Garland's dramatic way with a lyric.  His piano is marked by strong passage work, elegant flourishes and an innate sense of meter and rhythm.  DeForest remains one of the great singing-pianists and a sure-fire entertainer.

NEW YORKER

Charles DeForest's songs possess the life and literacy  that all big city music should have.  He knows of the good songs.  He even writes some of them.  He delivers them all gift-wrapped.
